Last spring, the Southeast School Library received a grant from the Sycamore Education Foundation of $16,800. We are grateful for this opportunity to improve the library for our students at Southeast! We purchased new tables and chairs to make for easier collaboration, ten iPads for creating book trailers as well as research, four wireless laptops for catalog searching and research, and a shared magnet board. Additionally, our principal Mr. Ekstrom purchased the Scholastic Go database! Our space is now redesigned to feature research, collaboration, and creativity as well as improved browsing to make finding books easier. The added room also gives us space to develop our new Makerspace where students can create using old and new technologies.
Students at Southeast School visit the school library once each week. Students must return their books the day prior to their scheduled library time in order to check out new materials. Parents and students can search for books and check their library account online. Please contact the librarian for student’s login and password.
